 Saphin debuting "A Song To Save The World", Union Square Park, 04.16.08 for the Human Rights Torch Relay It was an early tuesday morning and as Saphin reported to me the phone rang, (as things usually occur in his life). It was Sterling Campbell (drummer for David Bowie,The B2's) "jeff we're doing an event on the 13th of this month and we'd like you to perform a song or two, that's if you wouldn't mind". "What's the event Ster?" "it's to protest the torture and suffering inflicted or supported by the Chinese Communist Regime regarding the Beijing Olympics", "I'm in". Oh, and by the way they'd like you to sing something Human rights oriented.... You can sing a cover if you'd like... unless you've got something that fits in with that theme" "Not much on the covers thing, But I keep hearing, "A Song to Save The World" as a title..." maybe that'll work for this.
