| The Eons On Bowie | ||
Guitar legend Earl Slick has been working with David Bowie for almost 30 years and has become one of rock's most Iconic guitarists. Slick aka "Slicky" has also worked with John Lennon, and even Leo Sayer. Suffice it to say, Saphin is Proud and Humbled to be taking the the stage with Slicky, Gail Ann Dorsey, and Sterling Campbell, (who are essentially Bowie's rhythm section) Friday 10.03.08, at The Woodstock Film Festival. Also included are Brian Bessette (of Saphin and TV Sound) and Anik Jean. Ladies and gentlemen, The Eons. Here's the clip from Bowienet News: ![]() |

![]() Saphin debuting "A Song To Save The World", Union Square Park, 04.16.08 for the Human Rights Torch Relay It was an early tuesday morning and as Saphin reported to me the phone rang, (as things usually occur in his life). It was Sterling Campbell (drummer for David Bowie,The B2's) "jeff we're doing an event on the 13th of this month and we'd like you to perform a song or two, that's if you wouldn't mind". "What's the event Ster?" "it's to protest the torture and suffering inflicted or supported by the Chinese Communist Regime regarding the Beijing Olympics", "I'm in". Oh, and by the way they'd like you to sing something Human rights oriented.... You can sing a cover if you'd like... unless you've got something that fits in with that theme" "Not much on the covers thing, But I keep hearing, "A Song to Save The World" as a title..." maybe that'll work for this. Here's the article from the Epoch times covering the days event: Musicians Support Human Rights Torch in New York City |

OR "Tim E." & De-Signs" LOVENICO: "...serendipitously broke into the fashion world four years ago, when a really neato actress wore one of her handbags, a hand-made gift from Corinne, onto the Regis and Kelly show...." As of whenever you read this, Saphin aka Tim Essquare or "Timmy" and the de-SIGNS of LOVENICO are hand and glove. Here's Saphin on LOVENICO and the creative dynamo behind the fab fabric fabrications, Corinne Alexis Hall aka LOVENICO: It's always been a given that performance is visually nothing without the proper accouterments. This is a basic. But when a performer has the privilege of aligning himself with a designer who really gets what he does, not only that, but whose works are a natural for a particular character, well, the picture's perfect. I've first found this in TRISHA FAY's creations, now LOVENICO has been added to this ever vivifying vid. Where TRISHA FAY'S transcendent, hand made wardrobing is Timmy' etheric stage look, LOVENICO is Timmy on the street. The balance has now been struck. I interchange the two. Fashion and Music are perfectly paired in that which I've witnessed and worn of LOVENICO. Corrine's ear is to the ground, two eyes on the stars, and her third wide open. She has actually translated melody into fashion. Between LN and TF, Timmy's wardrobe is now fucking symphonic! Along with being available at such prestigious shopping environments as Urban Outfitters, Trash & Vaudeville, and YRB, LOVENICO is now also available at SaphinShows, and unlike the above mentioned outlets, at our shows THE DESIGNER'S INCLUDED! OK? That's Saphin on LOVENICO et al, now, here's LOVENICO on Saphin. Thanks LN. See Saphin model for LOVENICO's autumn collection! look. LOVENICO LOVENICO on MySpace Jayel Draco on MySpace |

| Saphin's "Time of the Signs" donates to The Red Cross... | ||
For the time being, Saphin has chosen to donate the profits from sales of "Saphin is Tim Essquare Starring in Time of the Signs" to The Red Cross. The money will assist those effected by Hurricane Katrina. This was Derek Sivers doing, says Saphin, he owns CD Baby, and he's offered this option to all who peddle their product through his very cool company/website. One of the many reasons why I use them, they're Awake. So, go do another good thing and buy "Time of the Signs" We think the cause is great, we'll leave you to decide what to think of the CD. |

| NYC Midnight Run WINNERS! | ||
Director Evan Seplow/The Image Factory won in the "Best Of" category this year (out of 52 entries) for a film submitted to the NYC Midnight Run Competition. The contest, a race to write, shoot, and edit a movie in 24 hours on a subject supplied by the judges that at stroke of 12 AM, in this case 05.13 to 5.14.05... this years topic? "Spare Change". Evan called on Saphin to do the music and participate in the writing of the piece (amongst a talented team of others). In the process, many-a-double entente ensued and pun was had by all. Have a look-see and listen for yourself here. The official screening is tomorrow...d-tails at the nycmidnight website, and get the back story straight from Jeff in his latest diary entry, "Title: ...Change" btw the title the film was submitted with was "The Dime Of Your Life". Good one. |

| Explaining Saphin? Okay maybe that's not possible, but Look forward to Saphin defining his "Ulterior-ego" Tim Essquare (aka "Timmy") in an upcoming "Timmy" section of SaphinScape. | Saphin members invited to attend Duran Duran taping... | ||
Don't be suprised if you see some "other" familiar faces when you watch the Last Call with Carson Daly New Years Special. I've got it on good authority that Brian Bessette possibly even Jeff Saphin may show up tomorrow night for the Duran Duran taping. Says Brian, I think it's important more now than ever, what with the record companies and broadcasting companies cannibalizing each other and amalgamating into one narrow minded, single laned, Jessica/Ashlee Simpson, Britney Aguilera Xerox machine, that we support REAL bands playing Music that they not only perform, but write and produce themselves. Says Saphin, I'd always support Artists who have their ear to the ground in order strengthen their own unique sense of Self-Expression, rather than those with their ear to the wall in order to find transient identity via The Jones' 'nuff said. | Be Patient... | ||
Apparently, MySpace is having major problems, be patient and rest assured this is no anomaly, really nothing new for them, it's the price you pay for too many companies paying the price to advertise at the same time on the same little page. It's bad enough we have to sit through anti-depressant ads on TV, Now we get to see them on MY band's page too, it's a downer. Another reason for the tecno-bullocks might be the 73,000,000 MySpace users with names like "Black Mood" adding today's new camera in hand pseudo-mortuary self portrait mirror posed photo to their black on black Nëu_Goth profile page, all at the same time of course...that could just maybe, might be another good reason for the problems, maybe.... I think MySpace should just be called MeSpace, whadyathink?...saphin If you get an error message just press your reload button the page should come up.Saphin at MySpace |
